Audi is trying to catch up with competition by presenting their new A5 Sportback. They are slightly behind, on the coupe-hatchback trend, because Mercedes came out with their CLS in 2004, and later BMW’s 4 Series Gran Coupe and VW’s Passat CC. Whats cool about the Sportback, is that you can also now get the A5 as an S type, which signifies the £50,000 price tag.

Other than adding an extra 2 doors, and little details here and there nothing has really changed with the practicality of the Sportback. However, the same cannot be said for the chasis and the engine. The Sportback has the new MLB Platform, giving passengers more head and legroom.

There is also a nice range of engines. You can have the 187bhp 2.0-litre TDI engine, which is also in the A4, VW Passat, Seat Ateca, and many more. However, there is also the option for a 2.0-litre TFSI with 249bhp and even a 3.0-litre V6 TDI, which makes a cool 281bhp. Furthermore, since you know it’s an Audi, you know that fuel consumption is frugal, so you can average around  30.5-57.4 mpg!

On the inside, you do find more room from the new MLB platform, especially for taller people, you get more leg and headroom. Also, the dashboard is becoming more fully electric, as it features a Virtual Cockpit.

All-in-all, the A5 Sportback can put a smile on my face, despite its small improvements.

Bold Moves

Volkswagen is making bold moves with their new Arteon. They are targeting people with the likes of the BMW Series 4 Gran Coupé and the Audi A5 Sportback.

By giving it a 2-0-litre 250HP engine, it reaches 0-60 in 5.6s and has a top speed of 155mph. Not as good as the A5 Sportback, but definitely not bad for the price range.

Inside, you can find, well, basically you can tell its a Volkswagen. Very spacious, tons of trunk space, comfortably sits 5, and the dashboard is simplistic, but with a touch of luxury, like the large touchscreen on the centre console.

Also, for fuel economy, you can get up to 36MPG (petrol) and 47.9MPG (diesel), which is very good compared to its competitors. This is great for when you’re on a tight budget, because you can be smart and think about the long term. By spending a couple thousand pounds more, you can save money on fuel in the future. This is essential for people looking to have a good quality car for the price of a cheap car. Furthermore, Volkswagen tends to focus more on comfort and fuel efficiency, and not on speed so, you know that the made this one well… (Joke about 2014 scandal here)

As everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I have one as well. For me, overall this looks like a great car, but it still wont make me turn my head if I see it on the road… Why? It’s a Volkswagen. They made the Beetle for crying out loud!

First Leg of the Journey

So, how famous is your favourite car? This blog is for people who love cars. Keep reading to look at my opinions or your favourite car… First off, my favourite car: Ford Mustang 1967 Fastback.

*Insert cheesy car quote here*

The Mustang 1967 Fastback is one of the best cars that has ever been made. Its like love at first sight. Every angle is just beautiful! I mean look at it! No wonder Ford went back to make its latest generation look like the second gen. And God, you need to hear those 400 horses just waiting to jump out of the hood! (and hit a nearby crowd)…

The 67’s key features include:

  • A concave rear-end with tail-lights
  • A 6.7 litre V8
  • Painted side-scoops to match the color of the car

And many more.

The ’67 was made with everything needed. What more could you possibly want? Luxury Model? Got it. Power? Got it. Comfort? Got it. Convertible? Got it. Safety? Almost got it.

Just some reasons explaining why the Mustang ’67 is the best car in the world.
